Ask me anything!
"KAZUMI!" Alice cried, pulling her friend into a hug. "I'm back on your world again! I missed you!"
Kazumi chuckled softly, “Hey, Alice. I missed you too. We have some catching up to do.” She smiled at her blonde friend.
The group stared at Alice a moment in silence. They knew she did not understand, but they also did not know how to fill her in.
Yumi finally glared at everyone and scolded, “You all don’t have the guts to face the truth! The words on their arms are for a reason. X.A.N.A. didn’t just choose random words from a dictionary. We have two group members that can not be trusted!”
The group remained silent as Yumi grimaced. Ulrich took her girlfriend’s hand and whispered in her ear to try and calm her down a little.
Kazumi looked in his eyes a moment. Why did she feel so weak? She never felt so vulnerable.. especially with him. But now she did.
William placed his forehead against hers. “One thing hasn’t changed.. my love for my girl.” He kissed her nose gently and took her hands.
Kazumi closed her eyes and interlocked their fingers. She rubbed his hands with her thumbs and whispered, “C-Can you still be mine? Even if we keep it a secret from the others?”
William smiled gently, “I thought you would never ask.” He pulled her close to him and didn’t let go.
Alice sighed as she looked over the troubled Yumi. She felt her heart give out knowing it was time she fully confess to her crime. If not to regain the trust of the people she cared for…then to at least get them to forgive Kazumi.
"No, he did not grab random words or random people. Both Kazumi and I committed crimes of various degrees. I’ll tell you mine in full honesty, but I leave it to Kazumi to tell you hers. It is not my place to say it. But all I can say is her crime is a result of mine. If anyone you should hate..is me." Alice said, rubbing her right arm. She felt tears form in the corner of her eyes as she looked to the group.
"It is hard for me to say it to you all. You guys have always been the closes thing I ever came across that remind me of home. The closes I ever come to feeling at peace as I’m dragged around. But I am guilty..of causing all of this."
"You all know I help created Lyoko on my world with Franz and Doodle. Franz handled XANA and help us with the transfer math formulas. But Franz did not see what I saw. I-I noticed as we used the returns of XANA’s growth. How he was growing smarter and bored. I-I was silently fearful of what he would do on his on, so I-I gave him a direction."
"I-I told XANA how I wanted Lyoko to become a video game. I told him I was going to need a villain. Something to fight against. He offered to be that villain for me once he finished destroying Project CARTHAGE."
"You see…that is my crime. I taught XANA various things then. I-I showed him military strategies, how to exploit weaknesses. I granted him access to the internet to read only. I-I help him make his monsters. Everything is my fault, I made XANA evil. When I made mine like this, a ripple effect happen all over the other worlds. Their XANA’s changed as well, even yours. This war is my fault!" Alice explained as tears roll down her face. Before she could hear their reply, Alice ran and took off crying into the woods.
The warriors were stunned by her words. Yumi’s anger continued to rise, but she did not act upon it. Finally, Aelita bit her lip and ran after her sister. Odd followed shortly after. The others exchanged looks in silence as everything they heard began to be understood.
Aelita and Odd ran quickly after her, both calling out her name, but not to harm her. They wanted to comfort her and help her. She had been through a lot without them.
Kazumi stayed close to William as they held each other. William knew her secrets and Alice’s. He had been the one to worry and stress Kazumi, but she forgave him. She did so without hesitation.
He whispered softly, “Let’s go back and resolve everything.”
Alice ran, letting her feet carry her as she felt her tears roll down her face . She did not stop as she heard the others behind her. She looked up as er feet carry her to the Hermitage. Alice wiped her tears and ran inside. She sprint up the stairs and stood by the door next to Aelita’s room.
Alice could tell the other Lyoko warriors never been in there. She grunted as she opened it. She looked around at the clearly playroom for Aelita. Alice sniffled and bent low. She hugged her legs in the middle of the room.
"This…should be Doodle and my room. Oh, why did I help that AI grow? I want to go home!" Alice cried. A small movement caused a book to move behind her. Alice turned as she gasped. A spectre grinned at the door. It grabbed Alice before she could get up.
"Welcome back…Alice-san!" It said into her ear. Before Alice could cry out, it cuffed her hand. Small electrical pulses washed over her and made her fall asleep. She watched the spectre drag her to the door to the sewers before she fully fell asleep.
